That 's OK. You don 't need to.
I still think it 's hanging up creating the new control file. If you run out
of ideas and are willing to experiment: Go to the original database; alter
database backup controlfile to trace; copy the file to the duplicate
database; edit the file as needed (perhaps change the database name?);
create the new controlfile; recover the database using backup controlfile;
open database resetlogs.
If it doesn 't work. Well ... then I guess you get to start over.
